" Taughannock Top Down"

Most folks take the lower path back to Taughannock Falls.  It's flat, forested, not too long, and leads to a wonderful display of falling water.  The path less taken is the upper journey which traverses the  edge of the gorge and progresses to a point well above and behind the falls.   The view, depicted by this painting, shows the entire gorge and  creek as it winds its way to Cayuga Lake.  The autumn colors and shadows of the late afternoon gorge enhance the astounding view.   Try the upper gorge perimeter path the next time you visit Taughannock.
