" Taughannock Autumn Morning"
If you are on the bridge which straddles Taughannock Creek and you are looking up the gorge and at lower falls, then turn around... Do this at 8am on a sunny October morning, and you'll probably see something like I did. The tops of the trees, lake, and creek were illuminated by the early morning sun. There was just a hint of frost left on the ground, and the trees were shadowing each other from the low angle of the light source. Everything was absolutely calm, and the creek reflected the colors of the morning sky and autumn foliage. I was thinking about another cup of hot coffee as I took pictures and I think maybe some of that coffee color actually ended up as the shadows when I did the painting.
