" Seneca Early Spring"

There are still small patches of snow on the ground as I venture along the shoreline paths of Seneca Lake State Park in April.   The willows which line the shore begin to present this year's growth with new branches of bright gold and the sun is warm, but the breeze is chilling.  The Geneva skyline is faintly visible from the deserted sandy beach on the far side of the park as I look westward through a light haze.  Although the sun is peeking out occasionally it feels like it might rain.
