"November Gold"

I'm not sure if I have some sort of fascination with willow trees or whether they are just so prominent along the shores of the lakes that I always end up painting them.   It suffices to say that they are a real challenge to properly render with their long fragile branches endlessly swaying in the breeze.   The lighting of this scene in Stewart Park immediately drew me to the composition.  Here we see the south shore of Cayuga gentle back lit by a late November indirect sun as the park waits for another dose of cold rain moving in from the west.   The willows wear their distinctive gold color as a last vestige of autumn color.
