" Hammondsport Whitecaps"

This painting was done as a commission and the vantage point is from a private dock several miles up from the south shore of Keuka on the east side of the lake.  The early November winds were howling although the sun was bright and the autumn colors were just past peak.   Hammondsport is barely visible in the distance and the long autumn shadows from the clouds grace the hillsides.  The lake has so many personalities... it is hard to believe the colors and climate were so different just a few short months ago.
