" Golden Horizons"

This one's a bit off the beaten track of the Finger Lakes, but its from a nice forested reservoir area south of Rochester now known as Boughton Park.   I was out hiking there one day in the fall and suddenly the late afternoon sun literally popped through the trees.  Took me by surprise so I grabbed some photos and tried to re-enact the experience later in my studio.   A small portion of the reservoir can be seen at the left of the painting.  In laying out the painting I wanted the trees to escort the viewer back to blinding overexposed area of the sun.
