" Bully Hill Nightfall"

I don't think there is a better place to see the layout of Keuka Lake than from up on Bully Hill.   For me, there is an incredible feeling in the air when gazing at these lakes as the light of the day fades.   Perhaps it is the subtle and diminishing colors of the distant hills and the horizon, or perhaps the glow of the water as it now appears brighter than the sky, or perhaps it is the twinkling lights of distant homes slowly appearing and lining the shorelines.  It is all of the above.... and more.  This painting was done in the autumn, and the air was chilling very quickly as I grabbed my photos, took in some fresh air with a few deep breaths, and began to imagine the picture I might paint.
