" Boathouse Twilight"

Boathouses were rare in the finger lakes when they were initially constructed in the mid 1800's.   These days they are unique to Canandaigua and help create both an interesting  lifestyle for their owners and a rare photo opportunity for many tourists.   For me, they are picturesque in their combination of colors and architecture on the mirror-like water below them.  The use of wet on wet watercolor to create both the cloudy evening sky and calm waters between these rows of boathouses help to capture the atmosphere of  another day passed on the lakes.
